RUGBY LEAGUE RETURNS TO THE SHAY!

Sunday 16th January 2022 sees rugby league returning to the Shay with the Scott Grix testimonial game seeing the Halifax Panthers facing Wakefield Trinity 3pm KO

Grix made eight nine appearances for Trinity over his four hundred career appearances. He won’t be the only Panther to face his former club. Joe Arundel, Kyle Wood, Adam Tangata and Titus Gwaze all had spells at Wakefield in the past, adding some tasty history to this clash.

The much anticipated return of rugby can’t come any quicker for Panthers fans as they are eager to get their rugby fix, following the cancellation of the Boxing Day clash with rivals Bradford Bulls.

Grix has called upon the fans and local community clubs where he started his playing career to get behind the game, the team and raise the roof!

Scott has had an impressing career playing, and continues to push the Panthers forward from the back room as the strength and conditioning coach.

This game should be one to remember and the fans will have a chance to see the Panthers impressive signings.

With the right kind of attitude and teamwork, this game could set the tone for the beginning of the season and showcase just why the Panthers finished in the top three last season and are being tipped for big things this season.No matter what the result, it will be a special day for Scott and the fans.

The Panthers will be playing in a special Grix testimonial kit, which incorporates the blue and white of Halifax and the green of Ireland. Replicas of those shirts can be purchased on the day
