Community engagement has always been a part of the Halifax Panthers ethos and with the addition of Community engagement officer Jack Duffy in May 2021 it has gained a lot of traction. Jack came to the Panthers with a background in sports, he was the communications director for Team Northwest territories in Canada whilst also managing a sporting grant “Kidsport”   With a huge passion for sports development, has managed to turn his passion into a career. He takes a lot of pride in creating positive experiences through sport. With experience in similar roles he wanted to challenge himself in Rugby League and the UK professional sport environment and found the Panthers to be a perfect fit. Recently Jack has pioneered the H20 roadshow which has so far reached 13 schools, engaging with 1,764 children, relaying the important message of hydration, with his catchy mantra of “it’s great to hydrate” With the support of the club’s mascot, the men’s and women’s team players, He wanted to ensure...

Simon Grix started his professional playing career back in 2003 and 2004 with Halifax he then joined Warrington wolves in 2006, injury sadly saw him miss out on three challenge cup finals. In 2012 and 2013 he appeared at old Trafford in the grand final defeats by Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors respectively  In 2014 Grix suffered a sickening ankle injury during Warringtons emphatic win over St Helens which sadly saw an end to his Warrington playing days. In 2016 he rejoined Halifax taking position at second row.   The Shay  in Halifax  is fast becoming a hot bed of signings in the past few weeks, Following  their( some would say surprising)  third   place  finish  in the 2021 season, The Panthers have added depth to their squad for the 2022 season. SO FAR ten new recruits have signed up, each one  have  got fans excited for what could be. The first  signing came in the form of the experienced Half Back Joe Keyes joining from Hull Kr, The twenty six  year old  has had plenty of championship  experience  formally with London Broncos, York City Knights and the Bradford Bulls. During his time at  Hull Kr  he was often third or fourth  choice for his position behind the likes of Mikey Lewis and Jordan Abdul, but when given his chance he showed his skill and caught the Eye of Simon  Grix  and the Panthers and will be massive  asset  for the upcoming season.
